Our Story

From impulsive dream to shared paradise

In the whirlwind of 2020, Annie, Adam, Kieran, and Emma stumbled upon something special - NewFarm.

Feeling an instant connection to the incredible landscape, they impulsively took the leap and became its new custodians. Grateful for the opportunity to care for this land, they're excited to share its laid-back charm with you. So come on down, relax, and soak up the magic of NewFarm.

  • We feel privileged to care for this incredible piece of earth and have committed to looking after it and bringing it back to life after many years of traditional farming and a little neglect. This means we are working to touch the earth as lightly as possible. We are in the process of reintroducing native planting and exploring regenerative farming practices.

  • We allocate 5% of your fees to revegetation activities on the farm using native tube stock. In our first year, we blew our budget, splurging on over 1200 trees and shrubs for zones around the hall and along the southern boundary!

  • You can offset your travel to and from NewFarm by making a note at the bottom of your booking form. We will be undertaking carbon offset tree planting on the farm each year using your contributions to the scheme.

  • We are working to minimise our footprint and everyone plays an important role in this! If you are camping we will give you two biodegradable rubbish bags for your recycling and general waste. These leave with you at the end of your stay. We accept bottles and cans for Containers for Change and have a large compost for your food waste.

  • We rely solely on precious rainwater. While it’s hard to imagine there could be a shortage in winter, believe us we have to be careful to make sure it gets us through the summer! We have a treated rainwater tap in the hall, the studios and the house. The campground water is generally not potable as it is sometimes supplemented with dam water. Due to our finite resource, we do not offer laundry services, however, there is a laundromat in Denmark town on South Coast Highway.
